Our long trip to Carpenter, Wyoming....

It first started on Friday morning April 3rd, we left our house at 8 am we took my car in to Les Schwab to get the tires balanced and rotated. While they were doing that we decided to go eat some breakfast at Angie's, during breakfast I got a call saying that we needed to get a new tire because it was worn out. We told them to change it, 1 1/2 hrs. later it was done. So we left Logan at 11 am. We went over the mountain and stopped in Brigham to fill up with gas and change Kayden, and then we were off or so we thought. We got onto the free way and my car started shaking really bad, I told Jody to pull over and the tire that they had just put on went flat. So Jody started to change the flat and we didn't have anything to get the tire off, so I called Les Schwab and they came and put our tire on and then we headed back to Les Schwab in Brigham for a new tire. So that took a while and then we were off again, so now it is about 1 pm and we still had a 8 hr drive ahead of us.
So we made it to Lyman to pick up Jody's dad about 4 pm, and then we started again. We got about an hr down the road and it was snowing on and off we were still thinking we might have beat the storm. Another hr passes and we reached Elk Mountain it was snowing so bad cars were off the road, the wind was blowing you could barely see the road a truck would pass you and you would have to have your wipers on super fast so you could see after they splashed all the slush on your window, and we couldn't drive any faster than 40 mph, it was awful. Well we decided to stop once we got to Laramie and maybe stay the night there and get new wipers, but when we had stopped for a while the snow kind of stopped so then we decided maybe we should just keep going. Anyways we get down the road maybe 10 mins. and we were back in this horrible blizzard storm, but we just kept going even though all the truck drivers were getting off to stay the night. So we finally made it to Carpenter and we couldn't hardly see the road or anything passed the road, Jody's brother Chad had to meet us at the end of the street just to make sure we made it to the right road. We made it finally at 12 am and the power was out! House was cold I couldn't sleep because all I could hear was the wind blowing so hard and the snow hitting the house. Jody's brother Chad was up all night on calls to come and get people unstuck and wench them out. Jody went with him on a couple calls, it was fun for him. Well Chad's wife Misty had a baby Jesselee on Tuesday March 31st at 7:11 am weighing 7 lbs. 4 oz. here is a picture of her:

So precious and tiny, she had the longest finger and toes. Kayden wasn't sure what to do with her, he would just stare at her and smile. When she would start crying he would look at Misty and then back at Jesselee then back at Misty. It was funny! On saturday afternoon I got a call from my mom saying that Shauna had just went into the hospital to deliver her baby and Adalyn Byington came at 3:56 pm on April 4th weighing 7 lbs. 14 oz. and 20 in. long (same as Kayden) here is a picture of her that was sent to me:

So adorable and she has those wonderful Thain cheeks. Well 2 babies down this year and 2 more to go, My sister Christy is having a little boy in June and Jody's brother Jer's wife Mandy a little girl in July. So lots of babies in both of our families this year, lots of cousins for Kayden to play with. Well congrats to Shauna and Misty for having your baby girls they are both beautiful.
Well it snowed this hard until early Sunday morning, by sunday afternoon the sun was shining and we made it back home fine and 4 hrs shorter.
